I appreciate all of your writing — no matter what you're writing about. I agree with Ruth and Marg: No need to choose between books and food. And I look forward to your new projects!

Thanks for the mention, Hoang! I have always appreciated your candor about your life, including the difficult parts, I know that’s not easy to do. Food and books are great interests—you needn’t choose between them. I’ve often found I can feed both passions at once in great cookbooks and in books where food is a prominent player (In Louise Penny mysteries, for example). Enjoyed your lists too. Wishing you and your adorable family great good fortune in 2024!

I totally agree Ruth. For some reason I always thought you had to pick a niche or something to write about (which only added to my confusion ;-/ ) since that's what people tend to do here on Substack, but then I realized that it's less about topics and more about my "voice." Thanks for your continued support!

Well some people do stick to their chosen niche, but really, if you have something to say and an interesting voice, people will tune in, whatever the subject--and may even appreciate it when you veer “off course.” It’s your blog to do with as you please. I will definitely keep reading!

I couldn't agree more. No need to decide between books and food. They can live very happily together.

Hello my friend and thanks for the shout-out. I loved reading your 'best of' lists. Lots of great suggestions for reading and viewing. Wishing you all the very best in 2024. I have a feeling it's going to be a good year for you (and hopefully all your readers).
